Graft agency to look at Juthamas' advisory role

The National Counter Corruption Commission has appointed an investigative panel to probe allegations of malfeasance against an unnamed current Tourism Authority of Thailand deputy governor over the appointment of former TAT governor Juthamas Siriwan as an adviser to the agency last year.

NCCC member Klanarong Chantik told The Nation that the panel will investigate a complaint accusing the TAT deputy governor of malfeasance for appointing Juthamas as an adviser after Juthamas had left her governor’s post in 2006.

The NCCC is also interested in looking into the bribery allegation against Juthamas in connection with the organizing of the Bangkok International Film Festival. The Department of Special Investigation recently concluded its probe of the case, and has forwarded its findings to the NCCC, but those findings have yet to be revealed.
